In 2008, Addington Coffee Co-op café was established in an old mechanic’s workshop. The plan: create a place of belonging for the local community, while still preserving the architectural features now so rare in post-earthquake Christchurch.

Our cafe exists for others. We like nothing more than to see people from all seasons and walks of life enjoy conversation, interaction or solitude in the café's space. Underlying this, we also redistribute our cafe profits locally and globally. Read more on our upside down business model under Our Story.
We serve our house roasted Common Good Coffee, a selection of sweet and savoury cabinet treats, and our famous brunch menu (download here).

THE LAUNDRY
After 13 years of loyal service, we retired our laundromat in November 2021.
Thanks to everyone who has supported it over the years. The space now houses an amazing extension of The Addington Store.
VENUE HIRE
The Café is available to hire in the evenings for your private function.
The venue lends itself well to wedding receptions, birthdays, corporate functions and any event that requires a ready-made location that looks good and feels homely the moment you walk in the door.
All events are managed through a third party caterer.
