In 2012 we purchased a property out at Little River (on the Akaroa Highway, 40min from Christchurch)

The vision for the property - provide a place for our community, customers and staff to visit, enjoy and recharge – away from the bustle of the city.

On top of this, the property seasonally supplies a decent portion of Addington Coffee Co-op’s produce requirements – in turn creating more employment opportunities for those who would benefit with a break from city life.

We have 100 free-range chickens contributing to the café’s egg supply.

Where the seasons (and floods) allow, we supply the café kitchen with fresh  produce, including: lettuce, spinach, rocket, herbs, courgettes, snow-peas, beetroot, corn, potatoes, pumpkins, onions and tomatoes.

To complete the cycle, all the café’s organic waste is taken to Little River where it is composted and used on the farm.

We've also developed small accommodation options for staff, friends, customers and travellers – alongside the opportunity to work the land and volunteer in the farm.

If you want to join us and help on the farm please contact We'd love to hear from you.
